Asking for Student Loan Forgiveness

A 3-month-old Facebook group called 'Cancel Student Loan Debt to Stimulate the Economy' now has more than 138,500 members, many of whom are pressing their representatives in Congress for legislation that would forgive student loan debt -- just one part of a new movement advocating for an overhaul of the country's troubled student loan system.

Washington is wincing in anticipation of the coming state budget .... Up to 10,000 college enrollment slots may be wiped out and 10,000 employees of schools, colleges and the state may be out of work. ... Some of the larger cuts eyed by Democrats are: across-the-board cuts of 13 percent to 20 percent at colleges;  eliminating 10,000 enrollment slots at universities.
