Enrollment through the roof
Because of economic hard times, the amount of state money for Grays Harbor College has plummeted. And because of economic hard times, people are turning to the College for education and retraining in numbers that have never been seen.

Sadly, too many states point to their community-college enrollments, not the success of their graduates, as the main measure of success. A recent Ford Foundation project funded and highlighted positive reforms in Louisiana, Ohio, and Washington, which are states with very different higher-education systems.
