Everett CC students gain property management skills
[Epler is] one of 16 low-income students who graduated from the program created by Housing Hope, Coast Real Estate and EvCC. Epler said she was completely surprised by the thoroughness of the program. “I expected to gain some experience, but not nearly as much as we have,” she said. … The program is a good example of how Everett Community College can work closely with local employers to train students for the work force, said EvCC President David Beyer.

A summer school for success / Tacoma CC’s first Men of Distinction poised to move on to college with an academic edge
African-American males’ performance in schools and participation in higher education is much lower in comparison to their non-black and female counterparts. So TCC faculty crafted a summer program targeted specifically at that demographic. The eight-week Men of Distinction summer academy is preparing 21 young adult black males for entry to, and success in, college.
