Sequim native learns to see herself as ‘artist’

Gosling started painting three months ago after signing up for a class at Peninsula College with Michael Paul Miller.

Gosling earned a 3.9 grade-point in the class and credits Miller for “helping me to find a voice in painting.”

New Whatcom workshops make 2011 the year of the writer

The other new program, the Chuckanut Writers Conference, is a joint venture by Whatcom Community College and Village Books.

"The idea was born because all of our writing faculty got together and said, 'What can we do to better serve our community?'" said Linda Howson, program coordinator for community education at the college. "It's one of those ideas that just took on a life of its own."
