Student Veterans to Receive Emergency Checks

Acknowledging that an administrative snafu has caused financial distress for thousands of veterans, the Department of Veterans Affairs announced over the weekend that this Friday it will begin providing up to $3,000 in immediate educational assistance to those waiting to receive G.I. Bill benefits for the fall semester.

Noooooo!!!!!

Word has it that my state is considering requiring students to file FAFSA (Federal financial aid) forms as a condition of admission to a community college.  The idea, as near as I can figure, is not to leave any Federal money on the table.

That said, I have one reaction: Nooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!
